The power of drama

Kieron has been a member of Equity since his first professional tour in 1998. He enjoys working all over the UK performing his drama workshops and theatre shows to both primary and secondary schools. His passion for Shakespeare is no secret and he is proud to be able to bring the words of the Bard to almost 10,000 students every year. Corporate theatre is a new passion for Kieron. He is fascinated with drama's ability to enliven a boring meeting and boost a sales team.

"Drama is an excellent tool that can benefit businesses through the simplicity of bringing people together through fun. I strongly believe that to start the day laughing is a beautiful thing!"

Working overseas

Kieron enjoys combining his love for languages and drama in education to help students practice and improve their English language skills. He speaks German, Italian and Portuguese and every year his work takes him to schools in Europe and to the favelas of Brazil.

"I believe that drama should challenge the way we think and the way we learn. I never stop developing and learn something new every time I deliver a workshop. It doesn't matter if I am in Bradford, Brussels or Brazil people are the same when theatre is at its best. This is what I strive for always in all my work. That moment when everyone is immersed in the drama."

Film and TV

When Kieron began as an actor he managed to gain experience in front of and behind the camera. He starred on UK and Scandinavian TV in adverts for anything from music CDs to throat pastilles and in 2003 was hired as a presenter for Athena Education. This began a great working relationship with Athena and Kieron has now written and directed six films for them.

"I really did learn on the job with Athena and Mal Meehan (mee3d) who is the "genius" behind the beautiful camera work and slick graphics on Shakespeare Works!"

All our films are edited with Final Cut Pro and DVDs created with DVD Studio Pro. Tunes are produced with Logic Studio Pro and graphics designed with Adobe Creative Suite.

Music

Kieron has played the piano since he was 7 years old. He continues to enjoy playing, even though he admits that he wishes he was much better! Kieron writes and produces all the music used in our films. He also provided all the sound effects for the computer games on Shakespeare Works! and wrote and performed the rap too. Yes, he wrote the theme tune, sang the theme tune.

"I use Garageband and Logic to produce my tunes and I am not ashamed to add that I am teaching myself the recorder. In fact if you book one of my Shakespeare sessions then you will see this in full flow - I can assure you it is quite a treat!"

"Mariana was crying. Johayne told us that he wanted to take us on a walk through two favelas, which are currently at war. Only AfroReggae can cross the lines in the dirt that separate the drug gangs."
